New Continental GTC Speed

A new world of freedom

With a phenomenally powerful Ultra-Performance Hybrid Powertrain capable of delivering 1000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque and 771 bhp (782 PS), the new generation Continental GTC Speed can take you from zero to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds) and on to a top speed of 177 mph (285 km/h). With a stunning new design and a wealth of innovative technology, nothing feels quite like driving the new Continental GTC Speed – with the roof up or down.

Ultra-Performance Hybrid V8 powertrain

The new powertrain combines a turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 petrol engine with a powerful electric motor, which eliminates any lag in acceleration, delivering 11% more torque than the previous Continental GTC Speed, for an instant response. The engine can therefore be tuned for maximum performance at higher revs, with the combined system delivering nearly 20% more power overall.

Twin-valve, active air suspension

A new suspension system featuring twin-valve dampers offers much greater breadth of adjustment, which means that Comfort Mode allows for an even more refined ride, while Sport Mode offers greater agility and control, even when cornering hard.

Optimal battery placement

To optimise the car’s handling, the batteries have been mounted beneath the boot floor. This balances against the weight of the engine at the front, lowering the car’s centre of gravity and achieving a near-perfect front/rear weight distribution.

Smart headlamps for easier night driving

The exquisite 3D detailing inside the car’s new headlamps represents much more than just a pretty face. A software-controlled LED matrix means the main beam can be left on at all times. When the car detects oncoming traffic, it will deactivate a central section of the beam, to avoid dazzling the other drivers – and it can respond in the same way to prevent light reflected from road signs from dazzling you.

Design

A new take on convertible style

A head-turning new design marks the beginning of a new era for the convertible grand tourer.

The exclusive matrix grille is rendered in a dark tint finish, as is much of the exterior detailing, for a powerful, purposeful aesthetic. The design of the LED headlamps is entirely new, their curved outline merging with their sharp-edged brows, giving the impression of a piercing gaze. At the rear, meanwhile, redesigned oval tail lamps with smoked lenses and matching slashed oval tailpipes complete the picture.

Performance

A force of nature

Experience the most powerful convertible Bentley has ever built. Powered by the revolutionary new Ultra-Performance Hybrid V8 powertrain, it delivers 771 bhp (782 PS) and a full 1,000 Nm (738 lb ft) of torque. From the driving seat, that means 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds) and a top speed of 177 mph (285 km/h)*. You can even raise or lower the roof at speeds of up to 30 mph (50 km/h).

This car is equipped with a package of advanced chassis systems called Bentley Performance Active Chassis. It includes an electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD) for improved rear wheel grip, which in turn delivers greater traction and stability. Put the car into Sport mode and you will experience further optimisation of its cornering dynamics, allowing you to take corners more confidently at speed.

It also includes Bentley Dynamic Ride, a 48-volt electronic anti-roll system that controls body roll, keeping you stable when cornering, without compromising the car’s smooth, refined ride at other times. Twin-valve dampers deliver a smoother ride in Comfort Mode, while delivering more control in Sport mode, especially when cornering at speed.

With all-wheel steering, the car has a smaller turning circle and improved agility when manoeuvring at low speeds. At higher speeds, the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the front ones, so you can overtake and switch lanes quickly, smoothly and confidently on the highway.
